Polar Plunge Lake Of The Ozarks

Freezin for a reason! The Polar Plunge returns to the Lake of the Ozarks February 24, 2018, at Public Beach #2 in Osage Beach. The “unbearable” plunge into the frigid waters of the Lake of the Ozarks is a great way to show support for our local Special Olympics athletes. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics Missouri, which provides year around sports events for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri. Our own Osage Beach Police Department is proud to host the event that benefits so many special athletes.

The plunge is a family friendly event. Participants are known for dressing up in wild, weird, and wonderful costumes. Most groups come in themed costumes and compete for crowd favorite honors.

Participants in the plunge must be 10 or older and raise $75 by the day of the plunge. But even younger kids are invited to support this great cause by participating in the Pee Wee Plunge on February 23 at the Osage Beach Fire Department, Fire House #2 on KK in Osage Beach.

The fun continues after the big plunge at Tan-Tar-A Resort at the Plunge After Party from 4-7 p.m. Plunge participants enter free and guests pay just $10 to enjoy free appetizers, two drinks, and entertainment by Kricket Alley. Make plans to bid on some great donations from lake area businesses at the live and silent auction.

Running into the frigid February water of the Lake of the Ozarks takes just the right amount of bravery and, well, crazy! We at Karis Cottage are especially thankful for all the volunteers and plungers, law enforcement officers and Special Olympics staff, as well as business and individual donors as we have a very Special Olympian. Gabe and all the Martins thank you for your support! For more information on how to participate or donate, click web link below.
